Access to Biological Collection Data Schema The Access to Biological Collections Data (ABCD) Schema is an evolving comprehensive standard for the access to and exchange of data about specimens and observations (a.k.a. primary biodiversity data). The ABCD Schema attempts to be comprehensive and highly structured, supporting data from a wide variety of databases. It is compatible with several existing data standards. Parallel structures exist so that either (or both) atomised data and free-text can be accommodated. Version 1.2 is currently in use with the GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) and BioCASE (Biological Collection Access Service for Europe) networks.Apart from the GBIF and BioCASE networks, the potential for the application of ABCD extends to internal networks, or in-house legacy data access (e.g. datasets from external sources that shall not be converted and integrated into an institution' s own data, but be kept separately, though easily accessible). By defining relations between terms, ABCD is a step towards an ontology for biological collections. - Food and agriculture Plant Science and Plant Products; Agricultural Research, Technology and Engineering Schema / element set
Access to Biological Collection Databases Extended for Geosciences ABCDEFG (Access to Biological Collection Databases Extended for Geosciences) is an XML-Schema (Extensible Markup Language) developed for use with palaeontological, mineralogical and geological digitalized collection data. It extends the ABCD-XML-Schema (Access to Biological Collection Databases) used by GBIF (Glocal Biodiversity Iformation Facility). The ABCDEFG-XML-Schema is used to apply a mapping to the local data source and it is supported by the BioCASe Provider Software. This Software is easy to install and provides a very handy user interface for databse description and mapping. The BioCASe Provider Software mediates between the local data source and the GeoCASe Portal by sending and receiving XML documents. ABCDEFG is proposed to the organisation of biodiversity information standards TDWG (Taxonomic Databases Working Group) as a data standard for geoscientific collections. GeoCASe will be adopted by GBIF as soon as possible. The schema provides a general format for data exchange and retrieval for geoscientific collections. It does not replace an individual database management software. GeoCase Network Food and agriculture Physical and Chemical Sciences Schema / element set
ACMO (AgMIP Crop Model Output) Data definitions The variables defined as the standard ACMO variables. Data translation tools will be developed for each participating AgMIP crop model which take standard crop model output data and generate a csv (comma delimited) file containing these data. Most of these data consist of metadata, which describe the management and climate scenarios, and the base data upon which the scenarios are applied.  These metadata will be supplied to each crop model as data are translated from ACE harmonized format into model-ready format by the data translation tools. These metadata will be supplied in the form of a comma-delimited ACMO_meta.dat file.  Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP) Generic / peripheral Plant Science and Plant Products Data dictionary

AgGateway's SPADE ISO 11783-10 ISOXML Extensions Draft The purpose of this standard is to describe an electronic messaging system used in agriculture to assist in the planning and execution of farming operations between producers, suppliers, and service providers. The scope of this project is limited to the data requirements related to the field operation of planting. While the recommended changes are intended to be generic and usable by any field operation, it is acknowledged that data requirements for non-planting operations may be missing. The standard proposes an extension of the ISO 11783-10 ISOXML tags. The standard is part of the SPADE project:. The SPADE Project involves the trading/sharing of agricultural data between farmers and the companies with the goal of promoting efficient operations. This data sharing requires the use of a common language among companies and equipment manufacturers.     AgGateway Consortium Food and agriculture Farms and Farming Systems Data dictionary, Schema / element set

Agri-Food Experiment Ontology The Agri-Food Experiment Ontology (AFEO), a new ontology network was developed based on two existing ontology resources, i.e., OAE (Ontology for Agriculture Experiment) and OFPE (Ontology for Food Processing Experiment). It contains 136 concepts which cover various viticultural practices, and winemaking products and operations. AFEO was used to guide the data integration of two different data sources, i.e., viticulture experimental data stored in a relational database and winemaking experimental data stored in Microsoft Excel files. Two potential uses by researchers of viticulture-winemaking integrated data using AFEO have been shown. The first one is about wine traceability and the second one is related to the influence of grape varieties, irrigation practices, and different winemaking methods on GSH concentration in wine. Those examples show that data integration guided by an ontology network can provide researchers with the information necessary to address extended research questions by viticulture and winemaking processes. - Food and agriculture Agricultural Research, Technology and Engineering; Food and Human Nutrition Ontology
