The Fisheries Metadata Element Set is a proposed standard for the encoding of structured documents within the domain of fisheries research and policy.FiMES is an exponent of the Dublin Core metadata standards, a set of simple, extensible elements used for resource description. FIGIS also supports the AGMES standards, a FAO-led initiative to extend the Dublin Core framework for purposes of agricultural resource description. The Dublin Core and AG standards are incorporated within the FIGIS FiMES standard.
