EFSA Standard sample description for food and feed
The EFSA standard is used to describe food samples in order to track the prevalence of biological risks, contaminants and chemical residues (from pesticides and herbicides). The intention is to ensure harmonised data collection across the EU. The standard is used by EI/EEA governments to send sample data to EFSA. The standard provides standardised data elements, controlled terminologies and validation rules. Controlled vocabularies have been established for all data elements or are inherited from ISO standards.
