The purpose of this standard is to describe an electronic messaging system used in agriculture to assist in the planning and execution of farming operations between producers, suppliers, and service providers.
The scope of this project is limited to the data requirements related to the field operation of planting. While the recommended changes are intended to be generic and usable by any field operation, it is acknowledged that data requirements for non-planting operations may be missing.
The standard proposes an extension of the ISO 11783-10 ISOXML tags.
The standard is part of the SPADE project:. The SPADE Project involves the trading/sharing of agricultural data between farmers and the companies with the goal of promoting efficient operations. This data sharing requires the use of a common language among companies and equipment manufacturers.
